Each 1g dose contains:
Ascorbic Acid 1000mg
Adults take 1g close cap (approx. 1/4 metric teaspoon) and children 2 to 12 years take 0.5g (approx. 1/8 metric teaspoon) once daily in water or juice or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. Safe during pregnancy and lactation.
CAUTIONS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) intakes exceeding 2-3g/day may produce gastrointestinal symptoms in some people. For those who have had kidney stones, amounts greater than 1000mg daily may increase the risk of kidney stone recurrence. Vitamin supplements should not replace a balanced diet. If symptoms persist, consult a healthcare practitioner. Not to be used in children under two years of age.
POSSIBLE DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Cancer treatment medication, aluminium, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), oestrogens (esp. with contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy), antipsychotic medication, cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins), calcium ion influx inhibitors (high blood pressure medication), barbiturates (anxiolytics), HIV medication and anticoagulants (warfarin).
